Lead Vocalist

The Pop Pickers are looking to recruit an experienced Lead Vocalist for our popular busy south coast band, playing classic hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Start will be as soon as possible, subject to audition and rehearsals.

The Pop Pickers

The Pop Pickers were established in 2016, and to date, have played more than 400 gigs. The band play classic hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and are fully booked for the remainder of 2023. They cover a geographical area from Bournemouth/Poole to the west, Bognor Regis to the east and Aldershot/Farnham to the North. They have also played gigs in London, Bristol, and Swanage for selected occasions. The band mainly play clubs and private functions, including weddings and corporate work. The band is extremely busy and play approximately 70 gigs per year, mainly on Saturdays, but also Friday and Sunday gigs are quite common. Over the years the band has established an excellent following and have a strong social media presence with their website, YouTube channel and Facebook page.

The Lead Vocalist Candidate

The Pop Pickers are looking for a mature candidate who can fulfil the following criteria:

​

  • Experienced lead vocalist who has preferably performed in a band, or solo/duo act.

  • Comfortable with singing ballads, pop, rock, and rock and roll. A setlist can be found on the band’s website.

  • Has own transport and equipment. PA system will be provided.

  • Fully committed, easy going, enthusiastic, professional, and reliable team player, with good punctuality.

  • Able to contribute to the band’s progress with new ideas and input, to shape direction.

  • Playing an instrument such as guitar or keyboards is a distinct advantage, but not critical for the right candidate.

  • Attend regular rehearsals in the Fareham area, as and when required, also contribute to the band’s recording projects. Rehearsals are usually during the day, but can be evenings if necessary.
